Morromico Nuquí
It is located in the Gulf of Tribugá to the north of the municipality of Nuqui. Department of Choco, Pacific coast of Colombia. The Choco, with its tropical rainforest and beaches of volcanic origin, is considered one of the most biodiverse places on the planet.
40 years ago the family arrived in Morromico to live in a place where nature and adventure lovers can visit and share where the only inhabitants were the animals of the jungle and the sea. They turned it into an exclusive eco-hotel that accommodates a maximum of 12 guests.
The river mouths are inhabited by small fishing communities and at the headwaters there are some indigenous settlements of the Emberá ethnic group.
The area has unsurpassed natural resources including one of the most diverse plant and insect species communities on earth.
The bird population exceeds 600 species and the marine fauna is more varied and exuberant than that of the Atlantic. Fresh water is abundant and there are rivers and streams, pools and waterfalls that flow into the sea.
A few kilometers away we find the Utría National Natural Park that can be visited as well as the Yubarta whale watching during the mating season from July to October.
Whale Watching, The season is July, August, September, October and you can enjoy to see the huge humpback whales! These incredible giants of the sea travel up to 8,500 km from the South Pole, every year, to the calm and warm tropical waters of Colombia to mate and give birth.
Learn to fish like the locals with a "yo-yo", if you are an experienced angler you can bring your own gear and go out fishing the whole day with few boats in sight.
Although this activity can be done all year round due to the great variety of pelagic fish such as bravo, grouper, wreckfish, snapper and snook. The high season is the months of April and May when the influence of the Humboldt current brings to the area a great quantity and variety of fish that follow the huge schools of sardines, such as sailfish, marlin, dorado tuna, among others.
Excursions to the Chori River and Embera community
Only 15 minutes away by boat you will find the Chorí River, where you will take an excursion navigating through beautiful mangroves and jungle full of a great variety of vegetation and birds. An hour later we arrive at the Emberá community of the Chorí River. After being received in the main maloca, you will learn more about the Embera culture, their symbols and customs, a guide of the community will show you the surroundings and the work of the artisans.
Ensenada de Utria National Park
Located 25 minutes by boat north of Morromico, this park is full of places to explore. Upon arrival at the park's headquarters, the park rangers will give us an introduction to the ecosystem and the importance of the park. Walk through the mangrove swamp on a wooden bridge almost a kilometer long. Hummingbirds, toucans, orchids, and during high tide, fish and crabs swimming among the mangrove roots, are some of the wonders on this trail that ends at the calm water beach of the Ensenada. After a short boat ride you arrive at "Playa Blanca" of white coral sands, a rarity in the Pacific. The place is ideal for snorkeling. Utria is the birthplace of the Humpback whales due to its unique characteristics.
Coquí - flavors and history of the pacific.
One hour by boat from Morromico is the village of Coquí, known for its gastronomy. Here you will visit the "Zotea" restaurant, a community project that brings together the best chefs in the area and with its garden provides a "farm to table" experience. We will visit the "Bohio de Saberes", a space dedicated to the preservation of the ancestral knowledge of the Afro-Colombian and Indigenous population of the area. A local guide will teach about fishing techniques, music, medicinal plants, agriculture and handicrafts. This is an interesting multicultural experience.

The seasons change during the year, drier from January to April and rainy from October to December. Generally the area is rainy where the biodiversity is one of the greatest in the world.
To arrive you must take flights from Medellin from the Enrique Olaya Herrera airport to Nuqui airport or charter flights from other cities to Nuqui, upon arrival you will be met to begin a trip by boat to the hotel, a journey of approximately 45 minutes.
